As per a report from Nicolo Schira of the Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur have tabled a big-money offer for AS Roma starlet Nicolo Zaniolo.
Zaniolo, a 19-year-old attacking midfielder, made the move to the Stadio Olimpico last summer, as part of the deal that saw Radja Nainggolan join Inter Milan.
The agreement also saw Roma pocket 24 million Euro and Davide Santon.
And to say that the months since have seen the Giallorossi emerge with the better of the surprise deal would be something of an understatement.
Amid Nainggolan’s struggles for consistency in Milan, Zaniolo has absolutely flourished in the Italian capital, establishing himself, alongside Moise Kean of Juventus, as the most highly-regarded young player in his home country.
The youngster’s technical ability, poise on the ball, creative flair and eye for goal, all packaged in a 6ft 3in frame, have come together in Rome to present Zaniolo as a genuine world-beater in the making.
To this point in the campaign, the teen has notched 6 goals and 2 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
As such, Zaniolo’s breakthrough has inevitably seen the now twice-capped Italian international catch the eye of a number of European giants.
Recent months have seen both Juventus and Real Madrid named as keen admirers of Zaniolo’s talents.
But, as per the aforementioned report from Nicolo Schira of the Gazzetta Dello Sport, it is in fact a Premier League outfit, in the form of Tottenham, who have made the first move in the race to secure the Roma man’s signature.
The North Londoners are said to have tabled a 50 million Euro bid for Zaniolo.
Roma, though, reportedly knocked the bid back, with negotiations currently ongoing between the clubs:

Tuttomercatoweb, meanwhile, claim that Roma will not part with their crown jewel for any less than 100 million Euro.
