Newcastle vs Tottenham

Newcastle are set to face off with Tottenham in a Premier League clash today at St James’ Park.

The Magpies head into the game on a dismal run of form, which has seen them fail to pick up a win in the league so far this term.

This has left the North East outfit floundering in 18th place in the Premier League, whilst also having conceded the joint-most goals in the division, along with Norwich City.

Tottenham, on the other hand, are currently 9th in the English top-flight, having won four and lost three of seven.

Spurs could, however, move as high as 5th on Sunday, after Manchester United lost to Leicester 24 hours ago.

Lucas on Tottenham’s goals

Ahead of today’s tie, Lucas Moura has been speaking about Tottenham’s goals.

And Spurs’ fans are likely to be pleased with the Brazilian’s comments.

Lucas has revealed that Nuno’s side want to win the Europa Conference League, before also assuring that their rightful place is the Champions League:

“When we have big players, big club, big investment, the pressure is big as well and now our situation when we speak about European competition is the Conference League.

“We want to win this competition, we will fight for this and we will fight in the Premier League to be in the top four and come back to Champions League because a club like Tottenham and the players we have, we need to think about this, we need to have this mentality and think about bigger things.

“The Champions League is our place and we will try for this.”
