Tottenham fans take aim at Walker-Peters vs Barcelona

Barcelona vs Tottenham

Tottenham travelled to Barcelona on Wednesday in a must-win Champions League tie.

Heading into the game Tottenham were second in Group B with one game remaining.

However, 3rd place Inter Milan were, like Spurs, on seven points and had a -1 goal difference.

The Serie A side was playing their final group game at home to PSV and as the Dutch side have failed to win a single UCL game this season, Tottenham really needed to beat Barca.

Walker-Peters’ mistake

Barca had not lost any of their previous group games this season, meaning they had already secured top spot in Group B.

As a result, the Catalan side played a very weak side vs Tottenham with Luis Suarez out of the matchday squad and Lionel Messi on the bench.

This gave Spurs fans some hope of picking up a win prior to kick-off.

Unfortunately for Spurs, they would go 1-0 down inside seven minutes thanks to a superb goal from Ousmane Dembele.

While Dembele did show some great individual skill to score the goal, the original error to give the Frenchman the ball came from Kyle Walker-Peters.

Walker-Peters was forced to start at right-back for Spurs vs Barca due to Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier both being out injured.

However, the youngsters big moment did not get off to a good start with Walker-Peters gifting Dembele the ball, which allowed him to go on and score his superb goal.

As a result, many Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to express their displeasure at Walker-Peters.
