Chelsea have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur target and Everton midfielder Ross Barkley, the club have announced.
Spurs have been tracking the player for some time now, with Mauricio Pochettino a fan, however, they have missed out on his signature.
The club’s supporters have taken to social media to express their frustration over the move not taking place.
The Blues’ brilliant deal
This deal for Chelsea is low risk, very high reward, given reports are stating that the 24-year-old has joined at Stamford Bridge for just £15m.
Just a few years ago, Barkley was deemed as being one of the biggest young talents in the country, however today, injury setbacks have tarnished his reputation somewhat.
The Blues must now hope that their new player can return to full-fitness and try to kick on in West London.
Many sources were reporting that Tottenham have moved on from targeting Ross Barkley…

Whilst, the Daily Telegraph’s reliable Matt Law stated that Tottenham were unwilling to pay a transfer fee for a player who is available for nothing in the summer…
On Tottenham and Barkley – For those asking, I don’t think Tottenham were willing to pay a fee for a player who will be out of contract in 6 months. It could cost them in the long run, though.

Can’t help but feel we have missed out on a good one in Barkley. £15 million for an English player is not bad at all and he could have been the perfect replacement for Dembele… #thfc

I have to say, I am really disappointed that Spurs didn’t sign Ross Barkley from Everton. He has now signed for Chelsea. An absolute bargain at £15 million!
That’s two Barkley’s for the price of one Sissoko!!! 🙈 #COYS #THFC #JanuaryTransfers #RossBarkley
