Tottenham fans are fed up with one player being labelled ‘underrated’

Supporters of Tottenham have taken to social media this evening to express their disillusionment with one of the club’s stars being persistently labelled as ‘underrated’.

Spurs went head to head with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, with hosts Bournemouth having come into proceedings sitting in 12th-place in the Premier League table, 6 points clear of the relegation zone.

Eddie Howe’s men had failed to win any of their last 3 fixtures before this afternoon, though their last outing did culminate in a credible 1-1 draw away to Leicester City.

Tottenham, meanwhile, were hoping for an immediate bounce-back performance, after being ousted from the Champions League in agonizing fashion at the hands of Italian giants Juventus on Wednesday night.

The starting lineups of both sides were announced an hour prior to kick-off, with just one change made by Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe:

Mauricio Pocehttino, meanwhile, made 3 changes of his own, with Serge Aurier coming in for Kieran Trippier, Victor Wanyama stepping into midfield in place of Eric Dier, and Ben Davies replaced by Danny Rose.

A brilliant opening to the clash on the part of hosts Bournemouth saw the Cherries rattle the crossbar within the opening 5 minutes, as Junior Stanislas was unlucky to see his chipped effort over the onrushing Hugo Lloris come back out off the woodwork.

However, the intensity of Eddie Howe’s men paid off in a major way just 3 minutes later, as Stanislas made up for his previous miss with a gorgeous driven effort into the bottom-left corner of Tottenham’s goal, following a whipped cross from the right.

And things soon got worse for the visitors, as star man Harry Kane was forced off with an injury, following a collision with Bournemouth shot-stopper Asmir Begovic.

A pinpoint through-ball from Christian Eriksen on the half-hour mark saw Kane look as though he had broken the offside trap to finish expertly, only for the goal to be correctly ruled out by the linesman.

However, as Kane connected with the ball, his right foot appeared to turn in the Vitality turf under the challenge of Begovic, with the English hitman limping off down the tunnel to be replaced by Erik Lamela.

Tottenham once again showed their spirit in the face of adversity as the fixture rumbled on, though, with Dele Alli pulling the capital outfit level 10 minutes before the interval when his expertly-timed dart into the Bournemouth box was rewarded by a perfect Serge Aurier cross.

And the turnaround was complete in the 62nd-minute, as man of the moment Son Heung-min volleyed Dele Alli’s chipped cross to the back post into the ground and over the despairing Asmir Begovic.

Son was at it again 3 minutes from full-time, as a sloppy Bournemouth free-kick eventually saw Christian Eriksen’s pass send the South Korean through one-on-one with Begovic, with Son coolly rounding the Bosnian and slamming home.

And Serge Aurier added some gloss to the scoreline in injury-time, as substitute Kieran Trippier’s cross was knocked into the path of the Ivorian full-back by Begovic, with Aurier heading home at the back post.

While it was a generally positive day for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, one claim on the part of the commentary team on Sky Sports has since left the club’s fans dumbfounded, as evidenced across social media.

The claim in question surrounded attacker Son, who was labelled as ‘underrated’ after giving Spurs the lead in the second-half:
