Tottenham Hotspur have offered Christian Eriksen a new contract, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Spurs’ offer is thought to be significant and worth close to what Harry Kane received over the summer.
The Spanish outlet are reporting the news amid Real Madrid’s interest in the Danish international.
Eriksen offered new Spurs contract
The 26-year-old’s contract with the North London club is due to expire in 2020.
Tottenham are keen to tie him down to a new deal as they desperately attempt to keep hold of the player.
Mundo Deportivo the North London club’s offer as:
“On the table (he has) a succulent offer, almost as important as the one accepted last season by Kane.”
Negotiations between Eriksen and Spurs have been prolonged amid interest from Los Blancos.
Eriksen targeted to replace Modric at Madrid
The European champions view Eriksen as the man to eventually replace Luka Modric.
The playmaker has been aware of Real Madrid’s interest for over a year.
Eriksen injury update
Christian Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, insists the midfielder’s abdominal injury is not chronic.
Earlier this week, the Danish national team manager Age Hareide was ‘misquoted‘ as claiming Eriksen’s injury was “chronic”.
“Some international media have translated Hareide’s words badly.
“Christian has no chronic injuries – nobody has said that.
“He just has an injury related to some fatigue and, for that reason, he is having some rest.
“That is normal because otherwise it would not heal.
“Somebody has not translated well.
“Christian is doing everything to be back as soon as possible.”
