Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier’s wife ‘in Naples looking at schools’

Trippier’s disappointing season

Kieran Trippier was one of the standout stars for England at the 2018 World Cup.

However, his 2018/19 domestic season has not exactly been eye-catching.

Trippier has put in several poor displays across the campaign and has himself stated that he isn’t playing particularly well.

Despite his dip in form, Trippier has still made 36 appearances across all competitions this season, including in Spurs’ latest game vs Bournemouth this afternoon, in which they lost 1-0.

Napoli eyeing Trippier?

The full-back also appears to be attracting the attention of some of Europe’s bigger clubs.

New Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly keen to sign the right-back this summer.

United are set to lose Antonio Valencia on a free this summer and Ashley Young is getting on in years.

So, Man United wanting to sign a right-back this summer doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.

However, the Red Devils look to be facing competition from Serie A outfit, Napoli.

Well-known journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported late last month that Napoli had launched an official bid somewhere in the region of €18-€20m for Trippier.

Now, Football-Italia, citing Sky Sport Italia, are claiming that Trippier’s wife, Charlotte Trippier, is in Naples checking out schools.

Trippier is said to be keen on the move.

He joined Spurs in 2015 from Burnley and has made 112 appearances across all competitions, scoring two and assisting 24.

Trippier’s current Tottenham contract runs out in July 2022.
