Tottenham could replace Jose Mourinho with another ex Chelsea manager as Maurizio Sarri under consideration

Tottenham could replace Jose Mourinho with another ex Chelsea manager as Maurizio Sarri under consideration

Manager Change

Things are not going to plan at Tottenham at the moment it is fair to say.

They were well beaten by Manchester United on the weekend, remain six points off the Champions League places and in 7th place in the Premier League. In addition, their captain and talisman Harry Kane’s future at the club has been in the press recently.

The club still have the Carabao Cup final to look forward to, but Jose Mourinho was not brought to the club to win the Carabao Cup despite their long wait for a trophy.

Italian publication Rai Sport are today reporting that Tottenham may know who they want to replace the Portuguese manager if they move him on, and the choice may seem a surprising one.

Former Napoli, Chelsea and Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is the man suggested who could be next to sit in the Spurs dugout.

Sarri has been out of work since the end of last season, when he parted ways with Juventus despite winning Serie A.

His time in West London also saw him win the Europa League, the first major trophy of his career, and a top 3 finish in the Premier League and it wasn’t enough to earn a second season at the club. The fans just never bought into his style and despite his success, most were happy to see him move on.

Napoli may well also be in for their former manager this summer, but he may well relish the opportunity to have another crack at the Premier League.

It has been officially confirmed today that both Tottenham and Manchester City will have 2,000 fans each at this month’s Carabao Cup final.

There will be certain restrictions on fans. No under 18’s can attend, and the vulnerable or pregnant will be told not to apply.

Fans will have to take a lateral flow test at a designated site 24 hours before the game and then bring proof of a negative result on the day.  They will also have to sign a consent form to be part of the government’s research into easing restrictions for major events.

Finally, fans will have to take two PCR tests, which show if someone has the virus. The first to be taken pre match and the second five days after.

Cash strapped Spurs will have to sell before buying this summer with Erik Lamela and Serge Aurier amongst players to be made available
