Tottenham boss Mourinho provides update on Gareth Bale ahead of Leicester

Tottenham boss Mourinho provides update on Gareth Bale ahead of Leicester

Tottenham vs Leicester

Tottenham’s impressive run of form came to an end in midweek.

Spurs faced off with Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield, in a top of the table clash.

However, despite having had some good chances to kill the game off, the Lilywhites eventually fell to a 2-1 defeat.

And Jose Mourinho’s men are set for a similarly tough test this weekend, versus Leicester.

The Foxes currently sit 4th in the Premier League table, boasting one of the best goalscoring records in the division.

Brendan Rodgers’ side also tend to sit deep before hitting on the counter, a style which Spurs may struggle to perform against.

Jose Mourinho on Gareth Bale

Ahead of his side’s meeting with Leicester on Sunday, Jose Mourinho today provided an update on Gareth Bale.

The Welshman, of course, returned to north London over the summer, on loan from Real Madrid.

However, Bale has since largely struggled.

The winger obviously required time to build up match fitness, following such a lengthy spell out of favour in the Spanish capital.

But we are now in December, and Bale has still not managed to secure any sort of regular football for himself, with yet another fitness issue having ruled the 31-year-old out of Spurs’ last two matchday squads.

However, Mourinho’s latest comments suggest that Bale should be available to feature vs Leicester tomorrow afternoon:

He’s fine. Trained yesterday with the team, trained today with the team. Looks ok. So if tomorrow, he does it normally like he did normally in the last two days, he’s fine.
