Erik Lamela starts for Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-23s against Chelsea in the Premier League 2.
The Argentine last featured for Spurs on 25 of October last year in the League Cup.
His returns hands Spurs a huge boost, with Mauricio Pochettino having another attacking option at his disposal.
A hip injury sustained in training has kept Erik Lamela out for over a year.
He last played for the club in a 2-1 defeat at Anfield, as Spurs bowed out of the League Cup at the hands of Liverpool.
Surgery in early April set him back even further.
He had originally returned to Rome for his rehabilitation with his previous physio at his former club.

He is currently in action for the club’s youth side, who take on Chelsea.
The game is currently level at 1-1 at half time.
He just misses out on Tottenham Hotspur’s squad who face Arsenal this afternoon.
This afternoon is the 184th North London derby
Champions League group stage
The 25-year-old will not play at part in the club’s two remaining Champions League group stage fixtures.
With his recovery time in mind, Pochttino left him out of his squad.
Tottenham have of course already advanced to the knockout stages, where Lamela would be eligible to play if selected.
Tottenham fans are buzzing
