The North London club are confident of signing Asamoah on a free transfer this summer, with the player’s contract set to expire at the end of June.
Meanwhile, Spurs’ interest in Madrid’s Kovacic has been long-term and they plan to finally make their move for the midfielder in the summer.
The Telegraph reported yesterday that Spurs were keen to bolster their midfield and with Mousa Dembele casting his future at the club into doubt, midfielders will be high on Spurs’ summer agenda.
One of those players is likely to be Asamoah, with the 29-year-old set to leave Turin at the end of June when his contract expires having rejected the club’s final offer.
Everton, Chelsea and Inter Milan have also expressed an interest in the player and will provide Tottenham with competition for his signature in July, with the player keen on experiencing a fresh challenge.
However, it is Everton who lead the race to sign the Ghanaian with the Toffees reportedly approaching the players over the past few days.
Spurs have held a long-term interest in signing Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic and are keen to finally make their move for him this summer.
However, Diario AS state that Tottenham’s chances of bringing Kovacic to North London this summer are slim with neither Madrid or the player keen on forcing through a deal.
