Lining up a replacement
Real Madrid are finally said to have lost patience with French striker Karim Benzema and the club have linked up Tottenham and Arsenal stars to replace him.
The Bernabeu side have always stuck with Benzema since he joined the club but his shambolic return this season has pushed them over the edge.
Now, they are looking for a striker to spearhead the side in an attempt to catch Barcelona in La Liga and defend their Champions League crown.
Whether that will be possible is yet to be seen but these two players could certainly have an effect if a deal was to be completed.
Those players are Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.
Both players are seen as possible replacements for Benzema but only one can seal a move to the Bernabeu either in this window or the next.
While those two would no doubt be the priorities, there are still a couple of other names on the four-man list.
They come in the form of Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi and RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner would could both also replace Benzema.
It could well be a huge couple of weeks for Real Madrid in that regard but all o the clubs mentioned will be doing everything they can to stop a deal.
So whether Zinedine Zidane will get any of his chosen men is yet to be seen.
Florentino Perez: “Benzema is a cross between Zidane & Ronaldo Nazário. He scores like Ronaldo & has the touch of Zidane.”
