Premier League duo interested in Jota
Premier League pair Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in signing 19-year-old Benfica star Jota, according to the Telegraph.
Jota will reportedly cost somewhere in the region of £25.6m due to his current release clause.
However, it is being suggested Benfica could tie Jota down to a fresh deal that dramatically increases his release clause.
Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira has also suggested no academy players such as Jota will be sold without an increased release clause.
Jota’s current deal with the Portuguese side runs until July of 2022.
Liverpool are also said to be monitoring the up and coming star.
Jota impresses for Benfica
Despite being just 19 years of age Jota is already proving to be a top talent.
The Benfica youth product has played 44 games across all competitions for Benfica B.
In those 44 games, he has scored seven and assisted seven.
Jota is naturally a left winger but he can also play on the opposite flank or down the middle.
The forward has also made four appearances for Benfica’s first-team, including a start vs Dynamo Zagreb in the Europa League.

Jota’s potential has also been recognised on an international level.
The Benfica star played a total of 35 games for Portugal’s under-17 and under-19 sides, scoring 20 goals in that time.
Jota is now a part of Portugal’s under-21 setup, playing five and scoring one.
