Top 3 Everton players to sign on FPL 2021/22

Top 3 Everton players to sign on FPL 2021/22

Who are Everton’s best FPL assets?

Everton will be one of the harder clubs to assess for your Fantasy Premier League side ahead of the season getting underway.

This comes with the Toffees now under new management. Rafael Benitez has been handed the reins at Goodison Park after Carlo Ancelotti left the club to re-join Real Madrid.

Ancelotti enjoyed a mixed 2020/21 season, which saw the Italian’s Blues start brightly, before tailing off and eventually dropping down to 10th in the Premier League.

But how will Benitez get on with this Everton side? The Spaniard is generally a conservative manager, so expect the Merseyiders’ defensive record to improve somewhat in the coming months.

Such tactics, though, can often limit attacking potential, which is something you may wish to consider when looking at the club’s FPL assets.

In turn, now, 101 have picked out Everton’s three best FPL options for 2021/22.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, forward (8.0m)

Despite it looking unlikely that Everton will be a very attack-minded outfit under Rafa Benitez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still one to watch on FPL this year.

The forward has become the Toffees’ main no.9 over the last two seasons, scoring 13 in 2019/20 and then 16 last time out. He would also chip in with six assists in 2020/21.

Everton’s striking situation also likely means that DCL will be a nailed-on starter once again, and that most of the club’s attacks will go through him in some way.

At a price of 8.0m, you may be slightly put off and instead wish to go for someone like Ollie Watkins – at 7.5m.

But Everton have a favourable set of opening fixtures, not facing any of the Premier League’s top clubs until gameweek seven.

Lucas Digne, defender (5.5m)

Lucas Digne has not been the most popular FPL choice in recent seasons, in part due to his 6.0m price.

However, at 5.5m, he is now a more attractive option. The Frenchman chipped in with nine assists last term, and eight the season prior, so he is clearly a decent bet if you wish to sign a defender who produces consistent attacking returns.

And with Benitez now at the helm, Digne should also benefit from more clean sheets, having managed just nine in each of his last two seasons.

Jordan Pickford, goalkeeper (5.0m)

Outside of Digne and Calvert-Lewin, Everton do not have that many great FPL options.

But Jordan Pickford at 5.0m could be a decent option if you do not fancy any of the 4.5m-priced goalkeeper picks, and do not want to spend too much on a shot-stopper.

Pickford helped Everton to 11 clean sheets in 2020/21, and that number should increase under Benitez’s watch.
