Tino Anjorin has the final say in Chelsea vs Arsenal Europa League loanee battle

An interesting Premier League-themed battle played out in the Europa League this evening, during the meeting between Lokomotiv Moscow and Marseille.

Anjorin on target

The clash in question saw three young talents currently out on loan away from Premier League giants go head to head.

On the Marseille side of things came Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba, both of course of Arsenal. Whilst the former’s move to France is set to be made permanent next summer, Saliba, on the other hand, remains a potential Gunners star for years to come.

It will therefore no doubt come as altogether frustrating for the Arsenal faithful to learn of the fact that Saliba came within minutes of a clean sheet this evening.

Amid an impressive display at the Lokomotiv Stadium, OM looked well on their way to an opening day three-point haul in Europa League Group E, both a goal and a man up with 89 minutes on the clock.

Step forward, Tino Anjorin.

Anjorin, of Arsenal’s capital rivals Chelsea, was too farmed out on loan this past summer, making the move to Russia to link up with Lokomotiv.

And the 18-year-old went on to have the final say on Thursday, picking out the far corner of the Marseille net courtesy of a wonderful right-footed effort, to secure a share of the spoils for the hosts:

Making Anjorin’s strike even more impressive is the fact that it came on his Europa League debut, and with the teenage talent having been introduced off the bench.

Staying put

Unfortunately for the Chelsea faithful, however, unlike in Saliba’s case, it looks altogether unlikely that their up-and-coming prodigy will be making the move back to the English capital next summer.

As confirmed by a host of sources, Lokomotiv have every intention of activating the club’s £17 million option to buy Anjorin, either in January or next summer.

The Blues do boast a buyback option, albeit for a considerable £34 million:
