Three Chelsea players out of the Qarabag game

Qarabag v Chelsea

Chelsea head to Azerbaijan in midweek with three players ruled out of contention.

21-year-old Charly Musonda is out of the Champions League match as the forward is struggling with a knee injury.

In the build up to the Champions League match, Blues boss Antonio Conte confirmed that Musonda picked up his injury last week, which is why he missed the 4-0 win against West Brom.

It’s been a tough season for Musonda at Stamford Bridge.

Earlier in the year he got into trouble with Conte after he complained on social media about his situation at Chelsea as he struggles to get game time.

Batshuayi & Moses

Chelsea’s two other confirmed absentees for the Qarabag Champions League game are Michy Batshuayi and Victor Moses.

Champions League preview

A win for the Blues would seal qualification to the round of 16, although a draw will suffice if Atletico Madrid fail to beat Group C leaders Roma

On their last European outing, Chelsea were beaten 3-0 at Roma, their only defeat in their last seven games in all competitions.

Antonio Conte’s side moved above Spurs in the Premier League with a 4-0 win at West Brom on Saturday. Eden Hazard scored a brace while Morata and Marcos Alonso also got their names on the scoresheet.

Despite sitting bottom of the group, Qarabag can still mathematically qualify for the knockout stages.
