Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel confirms Tammy Abraham is back in training, but won’t risk Thiago Silva against Sheffield United
Wembley awaits
Chelsea host Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday and have the chance to make the semi-finals as they face a Blades squad wounded by the departure of Chris Wilder last week.
Thomas Tuchel spoke with the media today and the first thing discussed was the draw for the Champions League quarter andsemi-Finals, which saw Chelsea paired with Porto first and then the winner of Liverpool vs Real Madrid.
Tuchel said of the draw he is:
“Happy we are playing an international team and not an English team because Champions League is about that and I prefer to play against teams from other countries. The second leg is at home which feels good to start with an away game and have a slight advantage to finish at home.”
“You can ask Turin if it helps to be favourites, it does not. We are self-confident and self confidence is strongly connected with our performances and we are confident we face a strong opponent with all the respect.”
“Now that we’re in the quarter-final is thinking about winning it and reaching the semi-finals and we are confident enough that we see our chances.

Regarding the fitness of Tammy Abraham and Thiago Silva, Tuchel confirmed that one remains out and one is back in contention.
Tuchel says Thiago Silva won’t face Sheffield Utd in the #FACup. “Now is not the time to take the risk. We are taking our time now. Hopefully join the group during the international break.” Tammy Abraham back in training today and hopes he will be back in the #CFC squad Sunday.

Speaking further on the Brazilian he said
“I know Thiago for many years now. We had a fantastic partnership in Paris, a completely reliable captain for me from the minute I stepped in.
“Once he is part of a team, he is 100% part of the team, 100% professional. He is a very emotional guy.
“If we want to have special results and moments, we need to have a special atmosphere. To create an atmopshere like this, you can rely on Thiago. He was so, so happy for Emerson to score like the other guys.
“On his contract, it is too early. Me and the club will make this decision together but if you look at the pictures, you can see how young he looks.”
