Thierry Henry in the Sunday Sun
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has focused his weekend column in the Sunday Sun on his former Premier League club.
The Gunners are back in action on Monday night when they welcome West Brom to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal will be looking to build on last weekend’s encouraging draw at Champions Chelsea.
West Brom are without a win in their last four and will find things difficult against an Arsenal side who have won four out of four at the Emirates this season.
Focus: Reiss Nelson
Ahead of the West Brom game, Henry has singled out Reiss Nelson for special praise.
Nelson was given his first start of the season last week in the Carabao Cup. The youngster, who burst onto the scene in pre-season, was deployed at right wing-back against Doncaster Rovers.
And for the French ex-pro, Nelson could be the next big thing at Arsenal.
Henry has personal insight into the young talent, have coached him at Arsenal previously. He wrote the following in the Sun:
I worked with Reiss when I was at the Arsenal Academy and I was so impressed with him. He has all the attributes to make it.
This kid has all the talent to be knocking on the door of the first team.
Henry, however, seems disappointed in Arsene Wenger’s handling of the youngster.
Of course, Wenger made a new for himself at Arsenal at the start of his tenure for blooding youngsters into the first team. Henry commented:
It was a shame not to see him start in his best position. He is a No 10 or a winger and he played as a wing-back. But as a kid, at a club like Arsenal, you take every chance you get.
