Theo Walcott offers Mikel Arteta & Arsenal verdict Gunners fans will love

Arsenal on the up

Arsenal would have an awful start to the 2021/22 season.

The north Londoners began their campaign against a Brentford side who had never played Premier League football in their history.

Arsenal, though, still limped to a 2-0 defeat the hands of the Bees, before then losing to Chelsea by the same scoreline and then being smashed 5-0 by Manchester City.

However, the Gunners have since managed to go unbeaten in their following eight PL ties.

Arsenal picked up wins over Norwich, Burnley and Tottenham before drawing against Brighton and Crystal Palace.

This has since been followed by dominant wins over Aston Villa, Leicester City and Watford.

Walcott has high praise for Arsenal & Arteta

And, in turn, Arsenal have climbed up to 5th in the Premier League and are within two points of a Champions League place.

Now, after turning Arsenal’s season around, Mikel Arteta has been receiving high praise from his former teammate at Arsenal, Theo Walcott.

Walcott would praise Arteta for his work with young stars:

“I like what he is doing Mikel, particularly with young players. Obviously, Smith Rowe, he made his debut the other night, which I am a big fan of. I really am.”

The winger also stated that Arteta is starting to mould into a really good manager:

“He [Arteta] is starting to mould into a really good manager, and I feel like his man-management skills are down to a T.

“I have seen him how he was right at the start and how he is now, again similar to Steven [Gerrard], his interviews, his presence on the sideline.”

Then, in a statement that will no doubt please Arsenal fans, Walcott suggested that there is a fear factor coming back to Arsenal:

“I just feel like there’s a fear factor coming back now which is really nice to see. Highbury was the main place everyone feared going to, the Emirates was very difficult to have that same effect.

“But I’m starting to now feel like the Arsenal are coming back to where we all want to see them – an Arsenal that are challenging is always going to be better for the league.

“This year, I think we’ve got them in a couple of weeks time, after that game, I’m sure they’re going to have a really good season.”
