The latest on Wilfried Zaha ahead of Crystal Palace’s meeting with Burnley
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has, on Friday, provided an update on the fitness of star man Wilfried Zaha.
Palace host Burnley
The Eagles are set to return to action tomorrow afternoon, in a Premier League meeting with Burnley at Selhurst Park.
Hodgson’s men will head into proceedings in search of a bounce-back result, having been brought firmly back down to earth at the hands of Leeds last time out, on the back of a 2-game win streak.
Palace, though, are no doubt well aware that they are set to face a side scrapping for their top-flight lives this weekend.
After seemingly getting their season back with a trio of consecutive victories late last month, things have taken a turn for the worse for Burnley once again of late.
The Clarets have fallen to a trio of defeats in their last four, the latest of which saw Sean Dyche’s outfit ousted from the FA Cup by Championship opposition – in the form of Bournemouth – during the week.
In the Premier League, meanwhile, as things stand, Burnley sit just a solitary spot clear of the relegation zone.

Zaha latest
As such, Roy Hodgson and co. will need to have their wits about them in a little less than 24 hours’ time.
The Palace boss was therefore no doubt keen to have as many of his key performers available as possible, ahead of Saturday’s Selhurst showdown.
One Eagles star, however, set to play no part versus Burnley, is Wilfried Zaha.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference this afternoon, Hodgson was drawn on the fitness of his Ivorian wide-man, who has spent the last week on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
And the veteran tactician went on to explain:
‘It’s only one week into his muscle injury. So we’re anticipating it will take more time than that for him to recover.’
Updates were also forthcoming on a number of Palace’s other stars, with Hodgson having continued:
‘The same applies for [James] McArthur and [James] McCarthy, the same applies to [James] Tomkins and Jeffrey Schlupp.’
‘The only piece of good news for me is that Joel Ward is able to come back into the squad after missing out against Leeds.’
