The latest on Tottenham pair Ndombele & Vertonghen ahead of West Ham

Tottenham have this evening provided updates on the fitness of both Tanguy Ndombele and Jan Vertonghen, ahead of the club’s meeting with West Ham United.

The Mourinho era begins

The north Londoners are set for a Premier League trip to capital rivals West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

The clash will come as a momentous one for the visitors, following Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking, and the subsequent appointment of Jose Mourinho this week.

Spurs head into proceedings desperate to get their form back on track under their new tactician, on the back of a dismal spell of form of late.

The Lilywhites have not secured 3 points in the Premier League since the end of September, and are incredibly without an away league win since January.

This run leaves Tottenham in a lowly 14th-place in the English top-flight as things stand.

Their opponents this weekend, though, have not fared much better of late, with West Ham currently in the midst of a 7-game winless streak across all competitions, the latest of which saw them downed by 3 goals to nil at Burnley two weeks ago.

The Hammers, as a result, sit a point adrift of Spurs, in 16th.

‘Will be assessed’

As such, both sides are no doubt set to enter the matchup desperate to secure a morale-boosting victory.

Visitors Tottenham, though, may need to do so without the services of a pair of key performers.

As outlined above, the Londoners have this evening provided updates on the fitness of Tanguy Ndombele and Jan Vertonghen.

Both players were reintegrated into training today, following respective groin and hamstring problems.

However, neither has yet been passed fit to feature versus West Ham, ahead of late assessments before kick-off on Saturday:

All of Erik Lamela, Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm, meanwhile, have been ruled out:
