Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has this evening provided a fitness update on his squad, ahead of their meeting with West Ham this weekend.
West Ham vs Southampton
The Saints are set to visit the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon, for a Premier League clash.
Southampton will no doubt head into proceedings with their tails up, on the back of a morale-boosting victory last time out.
After falling to a trio of consecutive defeats over the weeks prior, Hasenhuttl’s men put relegation-battling Aston Villa to the sword by 2 goals to nil last weekend.
This victory saw the St. Mary’s outfit move a full 10 points clear of the drop zone, with their spot in the Premier League for next season all but ensured.
Their opponents this weekend, on the other hand, are currently right in the thick of the relegation battle.
West Ham sit 18th in the English top-flight table, a point adrift of safety, having not picked up a league win since the 1st of January.
As such, Southampton no doubt fancy their chances of making it two wins from two when they visit the London Stadium in 2 days’ time.
And, as outlined above, Ralph Hasenhuttl has this evening provided an update on the squad of players set to be at his disposal.
Nathan Redmond, as expected, has been ruled out, with the Southampton boss having revealed that the 25-year-old is likely to be out of action for around a month.
January arrival Kyle Walker-Peters, on the other hand, is in contention to feature:
‘So far it looks good. Reddie is still out, so it will take maybe a little longer. But Walker-Peters is back in training.’
‘He’s trained well this week. That’s one more option we have.’
‘Redmond will take time, I think about one month. Hopefully not longer. Maybe after the international break he can play again, that is the schedule at the moment.’

Finally, Moussa Djenepo’s potential participation on Saturday has also been thrown into major doubt, after it was confirmed that the attacker’s mother has sadly passed away.
