The latest on N’Golo Kante & Christian Pulisic ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Tottenham

Tottenham vs Chelsea

One of the weekend’s marquee Premier League ties will play out on Sunday afternoon.

The clash will see city rivals Tottenham and Chelsea face off in north London.

Chelsea head into the game having continued their unbeaten start to the 2021/22 season by seeing off Zenit St Petersburg in a Champions League clash on Wednesday.

Tottenham, on the other hand, fell to a rather embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace this past weekend.

This loss came on the back on Spurs’ superb start to the season, which saw them pick up three wins from three in the Premier League.

The Lilywhites were then in Europa Conference League action on Thursday, but were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw vs Ligue 1 side, Rennes.

As a result, Chelsea should be viewed as overwhelming favourites for Sunday’s game.

Kante & Pulisic updates

Ahead of the capital clash, Thomas Tuchel would speak to the press on Friday.

The German discussed a number of topics in his press conference, including team news.

Both N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic missed Chelsea’s win over Zenit in midweek.

And, when speaking on Friday, Tuchel delivered a mixed update on the pair.

First, the former PSG boss stated that Pulisic is ‘trying to come back as fast as possible’, but will not be available to face Spurs.

Kante, on the other hand, is said to be in ‘full shape’, and ready to return:

“No fresh injury concerns. Christian is trying to come back as fast as possible but is not in the squad. N’Golo is in full shape and ready to play.”
