The Mirror have provided an update on the ongoing tug-of-war between Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund over the signature of Birmingham City wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham, a 16-year-old midfielder, came up through Birmingham’s youth ranks.
The English youth international had been viewed as one of the finest talents on the books at St. Andrew’s for some time, eventually resulting in Bellingham, despite his tender years, being introduced to the club’s first-team setup ahead of the current campaign.
And to say that the teen has since gone on to impress at senior level would be putting it lightly.
Incredibly, Bellingham has featured in all but 5 of Birmingham’s 37 Championship fixtures to this point in the campaign.
The midfielder has even chipped in with 4 goals and 2 assists across these appearances.

As such, Bellingham’s impressive, but above all mature displays at the heart of the Blues’ midfield this season have inevitably resulted in speculation that he has been added to the respective wishlists of a number of not only English football’s giants, but top clubs throughout Europe.
To this point, all of Manchester United, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have been named as keen suitors of the midfielder.
It is United and Dortmund, though, who are viewed as the frontrunners to actually push through a summer deal.
And, as outlined above, the Mirror have this weekend provided an update on the tug-of-war now well underway between the aforementioned outfits.
The key claim is that, if Bellingham does opt to make the move to Old Trafford, it will not be a financially-motivated decision.
This comes with Dortmund having actually tabled a superior package to the teen himself.
BVB are said to be ‘pulling out all the stops’ to land Bellingham, as the Bundesliga powerhouse prepare to part with another of Europe’s most promising young talents this summer.
Jadon Sancho is widely-expected to depart the Westfalenstadion, with Manchester United also a potential destination for the English international.
As things stand, though, Bellingham’s future remains largely up in the air, with the in-demand starlet weighing up all of his options ahead of making an imminent life-changing decision over the coming months.
