The latest on Duncan Ferguson & Carlo Ancelotti ahead of Everton vs Arsenal/Ibrahimovic tipped for Goodison switch

An update on the managerial situation at Everton has emerged online this evening, ahead of the club’s meeting with Arsenal.

Silva sacked

On the back of an abysmal start to the campaign, a long-anticipated change at the helm at Goodison Park was confirmed two weeks ago.

A 5-2 drubbing at the hands of Merseyside rivals Liverpool proved the final nail in the coffin of Marco Silva, as the Toffees’ hierarchy opted to part ways with the Portuguese tactician:

The post-Silva era at Everton, meanwhile, has since gotten off to a positive start, under the guidance of Duncan Ferguson.

Club legend Ferguson was named interim Toffees boss on the back of Silva’s exit, and has gone on to guide his side to 4 points from a pair of tough Premier League fixtures, versus Chelsea and Manchester United.

Ferguson to oversee Arsenal clash/Ancelotti imminent

Nevertheless, though, the general assumption has remained that those in charge at Everton hope to install a more experienced option on the club’s bench imminently.

A surprise heavy favourite, meanwhile, has emerged this week, in the form of Carlo Ancelotti.

Italian tactician Ancelotti is currently out of work, after being dismissed by Serie A giants Napoli.

The 60-year-old has been widely-tipped to be installed at Goodison Park as early as this weekend, but, as confirmed in an official announcement across Everton’s social media platforms, Duncan Ferguson will be in charge for the club’s upcoming meeting with Arsenal:

As has since been revealed by the reliable Dominic King of the Daily Mail, however, Carlo Ancelotti looks set to be in attendance for his future side’s clash with the Gunners.

The former AC Milan boss will then get his stint as Everton boss underway on Monday.

Ibra back to the Premier League?

And, as per a further report from the Telegraph, Ancelotti may not be the only imminent high-profile arrival at Goodison Park.

It is claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is taking into serious consideration joining his former boss on Merseyside.

The pair previously spent time working together at French giants PSG.

Ibrahimovic is currently a free agent, following the expiration of his LA Galaxy contract.
