The latest fitness update on Liverpool’s Andy Robertson after injury scare

The latest fitness update on Liverpool’s Andy Robertson after injury scare

Liverpool play host to Arsenal

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side will be back in action next Saturday evening, when they play host to high-flying Arsenal under the lights at Anfield.

The Merseyside outfit suffered their first defeat of the campaign as they came unstuck against West Ham last time out, and will be looking to get back to winning ways to avoid Chelsea opening up a gap at the top of the Premier League table.

It seemed, heading into Tuesday morning, as though Liverpool’s poor injury luck was continuing. Andy Robertson was taken off for Scotland with an injury problem, while Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane were both forced out of international duty with their own respective issues.

However, as per the Liverpool echo, whilst Henderson and James Milner trained alone today, there was better news when it came to Mane, who took part in full training.

All three appear to be in with a good chance to make the squad, if selected, for Saturday evening.

The latest word on Andy Robertson

That good news, however, may not extend to Andy Robertson.

Limping off while playing for Scotland, an update has since emerged courtesy of The Athletic.

As per James Pearce, a scan revealed that Robertson has not sustained any serious damage to his hamstring, but continues to feel tightness in the muscle.

As a result, Liverpool “continue to monitor him closely”, with the Scot being rated as “50-50” to face Arsenal.

Fortunately for Klopp’s side, backup fullback Kostas Tsimikas has impressed in his outings thus far this season, meaning that Robbo’s absence would not prove as costly as it once could have been.

Will he make it?
