West Brom & Daniel Sturridge
In another low to West Brom’s Premier League survival hopes, the Mirror are reporting on Wednesday that Daniel Sturridge has suffered another injury blow.
Sturridge joined West Brom from Liverpool on loan in January.
The Liverpool striker was attempting to get his career back on track, with outside hopes of making the England squad for the World Cup.
But it seems that Sturridge can kiss those hopes of playing in Russia goodbye as the striker may be sidelined for another month.
Injured vs Chelsea
It turned out to be a horrible return to Stamford Bridge for Liverpool loanee Daniel Sturridge earlier in month.
Sturridge twinged his hamstring in the opening minutes of the Chelsea game. And the Mirror have now reported on the forward’s comeback timetable:
West Brom’s crisis season has taken a savage blow with Daniel Sturridge facing up to another month on the sidelines.
Sturridge is not expected back “imminently” due to a hamstring problem earlier this month which originally ruled him out for just two weeks.
West Brom are bottom of the Premier League with 20 points from 28 games. They are seven points adrift from safety and they are odds-on to be relegated.
The Baggies have only scored 21 goals this season in the league.
As for Alan Pardew, he’s only won 7 of his last 54 games as a manager in the Premier League.
Last weekend Huddersfield picked up a huge away win at the Hawthorns beating West Brom 2-1.
Rajiv van La Parra and Steve Mounie scored for Huddersfield at the start of the season half. Craig Dawson pulled a goal back for West Brom but they couldn’t find an equaliser.
