Robin van Persie & Fenerbahce
Worrying news has been reported on Tuesday morning regarding former Arsenal and Man United striker Robin van Persie.
It’s been a while since Van Persie was a striker in the Premier League.
Now 34-years-old, the Dutch centre-forward plies his trade for Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Van Persie is also still in the Holland setup. Last week he featured in the 4-0 hammering at the hands of France.
But that could be the last time we Van Persie in action for some time.
Bad news for Arsenal & Man United old boy
It’s now been confirmed that Robin van Persie could now be on the sidelines for an extended period of time.
In horrible news, it’s been reported that Van Persie tore his left knee cruciate ligament during the France match.
BeIN Sports Turkey have broken the news, announcing that the serious injury will keep Van Persie out of action for many months.
UPDATE: On Tuesday afternoon, Van Persie took to social media to update his fans on his injury. Happily it’s not nearly as bad as first reported.

Of course, if RVP wants to look for some inspiration, he might want to speak to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Many feared the worst for Zlatan when he suffered a similar injury last season for Man United.
However the Swede has defied all those who wrote him off. Not only is he way ahead of schedule on his injury comeback, but he’s recently agreed a new one year deal with Man United.
That said, it’s clear that Robin van Persie is already out of contention for Holland’s final two 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Belarus and Sweden in October.
Holland have a massive job on their hands if they are to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. They are third in their group, three points behind Sweden and four points behind France.
