Terrible news for Leicester’s Okazaki, amazing news for Arsenal’s Asano

Japan vs Colombia

On Tuesday Japan kick off their World Cup campaign with a match against Colombia.

Many will predict a win for the South Americans; Colombia are dark horses to win the World Cup this summer.

Poland and Senegal complete the group.

Terrible news for Leicester’s Shinji Okazaki

According to reports out of Japan, Leicester’s Shinji Okazaki may already be over.

Okazaki, 32, is set to leave the Japanese camp due to an injury.

It’s reported that the Leicester forward has a problem with his right calf.

Japan have yet to confirm that Okazaki has been forced out of the World Cup.

However they need to make a decision quickly if they are to replace the Leicester forward.

Call up for Arsenal’s Takuma Asano

If Okazaki departs, Yahoo Japan claim that Arsenal’s Takuma Asano will be called up instead.

Asano has been on Arsenal’s books for a while, and last season he was farmed out on loan to Hannover in the German second division.

In 20 games for Hannover, Takuma Asano scored two goals and chipped in with two assists.
