Everton’s slow start to the new campaign took another turn for the worse on Friday, as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted Aston Villa.
The loss followed a lacklustre stalemate with Crystal Palace and a hard-fought win over Watford at home.
Now, the Toffees have been dealt some worrying news, with Jean-Philippe Gbamin having reportedly suffered a very lengthy injury.

Gbamin could be set to miss the next three months, after suffering a thigh injury during training.
The Ivorian had featured in the club’s opening two games of the season, before missing the defeat to Villa.
The BBC report that he is expected to undergo further tests this week, with 12 weeks being the worst-case scenario.
The club doesn’t expect him to require surgery.
The 23-year-old arrived from FSV Mainz this summer, in a deal worth £25 million.
He was signed to replace Idrissa Gueye, who left for Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder has been quickly thrust on to the scene at Goodison Park, due to an injury suffered by Andre Gomes, and then Morgan Schneiderlin’s suspension, both on the opening day.
Marco Silva will now be hoping that Fabian Delph makes a swift recovery from a groin injury.
The former Manchester City midfielder could return against Wolverhampton Wanderers next Sunday.
