Teemu Pukki a doubt for Norwich’s FA Cup clash with Tottenham

Tottenham vs Norwich

Tottenham play host to Norwich on Wednesday evening in a 5th round FA Cup tie.

With Spurs missing out on the League Cup, and 1-0 down in their last-16 Champions League clash vs RB Leipzig, this competition looks to be Jose Mourinho’s best chance of delivering silverware to the Lilywhites this term.

To make it to the last-16 of the FA Cup, the north London outfit have seen off Middlesbrough and Southampton, requiring replays in both ties.

As for Norwich, they look certain to be plying their trade in the Championship next season, but clinching the FA Cup would no doubt please the Canaries.

Spurs have won the FA Cup eight times in their history, but they haven’t done so since 1991, whilst Norwich have never won this trophy.

Pukki a doubt for Tottenham clash

Daniel Farke would hold his pre-Tottenham press conference on Tuesday.

During his latest presser, Farke confirmed that both Teemu Pukki and Alex Tettey are doubts for the trip to London.

Pukki has been one of Norwich’s biggest attacking threats this term, netting 11 and assisting three in 27 league ties.

But the 29-year-old could well be absent on Wednesday due to illness:

“Alex Tettey and Teemu Pukki are doubts, they couldn’t train yesterday due to illness, so there’s a question mark behind their appearances. It’s 50/50 with them, they feel better today but we have to see how they react.”

Farke also gave an update on Christoph Zimmermann:

“Zimmermann is not available for tomorrow, he’s still unable to train.

“He has some problems in his tendon, he had another scan and has to see a specialist. It’s a tricky assessment right now. It’s not good news for us.”
