Team Nike v Team Adidas
On Wednesday, leading French paper L’Equipe have looked into the football divide between Nike and Adidas.
Nike and Adidas are the biggest manufacturers in football by a country mile.
According to Ligue, over 90% of the players competing in Europe’s top five leagues wear either Nile or Adidas boots.
Ronaldo, Neymar & Hazard
L’Equipe have put their thinking cap on to compile the best Team Nike XI.
It’s fair to say the team which they’ve come up with is undeniably incredible.
The players in the team comes from Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Juventus and PSG. While the team has been set up in an excited 4-2-4 formation.
Starting at the back, Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois was picked in goal.
Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos comprised half of the back four, with AC Milan’s Leonardo Bonucci and Juventus left-back Alex Sandro filled out the defence.
Zinedine Zidane’s midfield duo of Luka Modric and Casemiro made up the two man midfield, while the Real Madrid theme continued up front with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the attack.
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard also made the cut along with the world’s most expensive player, Neymar, alongside his PSG team mate Kylian Mbappe.
Messi, Neuer, Marcelo
When it came to Team Adidas, L’Equipe plumped for a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer was picked in goal, although the German international is currently out of action for months after he broke his broke.
Atletico Madrid’s Juanfran, Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta, Bayern’s Mats Hummels and Real Madrid’s Marcelo comprised the back four.
The two midfielders in the XI were Chelsea’s N’Golo Kane and Real’s Toni Kroos.
Barcelona superstar Leo Messi was accompanied by Tottenham’s Dele Alli and Man City’s David Silva in the attack.
Roma striker Edinn Dzeko was picked to lead the line.
