Liverpool miss out on the title
Liverpool’s final game at Anfield this campaign saw them host 7th-placed Wolves in a must-win tie.
Jurgen Klopp’s side started the day one point behind table-toppers Manchester City.
Liverpool therefore needed to win vs Nuno Santo’s side and hope that City lost or drew vs Brighton.
Unfortunately for Liverpool, Man City smashed Brighton 4-1 to become champions for a second season in a row.
TAA sets a PL record
While Liverpool missed out on the Premier League title, they still came away 2-0 winners vs Wolves.
Sadio Mane would open the scoring for the Reds in the 17th minute.
The Liverpool forward then made it 2-0 in the 82nd minute, putting him joint top of the Premier League’s goal-scoring charts alongside Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

It would be Trent Alexander-Arnold who assisted both of Liverpool’s goals on Sunday.
After those two assists, TAA ended the 2018/19 season with 12 Premier League assists.
No defender has ever assisted as many goals in one Premier League campaign.
The record was previously held by Leighton Baines who assisted 11 in the 2010/11 season.
Coincidentally, Liverpool’s Andy Robertson has also matched the previous record of 11 this season.
