Zlatan Ibrahimovic to join Atletico Madrid?
Despite many reports linking Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United, AC Milan and LA Galaxy, it looks as if the player could be on his way to Atletico Madrid. The signing would certainly revitalise Atletico – after a second Champions League final defeat to local rivals Real this season. Also it would go a long way towards persuading manager Diego Simeone, to stay at the club.
According to Sara Davidson from SoccerRumours.com (via AS.com), the Swedish striker has now made up his mind and wants to join Spanish side, Atletico Madrid. Apparently, many sources at PSG, claims Davidson, have revealed that the deal, which would see Zlatan sign for Atletico Madrid, could go through ‘by the end of the week’.
However, it is also reported that it would cost the side a reported €27 million to secure the Swede’s signature.
Their is no doubt that this would be a big signing for Atletico, however, it may not be so simple for the club given Zlatan’s very high wage demands.
Zlatan, who was Ligue 1’s top goalscorer this season with 38 goals in 31 games, did speak out about his future earlier this week, claiming: “I made a decision (where I’m going) a long time ago.”
