Swansea vs Manchester City betting tips: FA Cup match preview & predictions

Swansea vs Manchester City prediction: Swansea 0-3 Manchester City

Pep Guardiola will be expected to shuffle the City pack, but his side has more than enough depth to cope with Saturday’s Championship opposition.

City will be full of confidence after scoring 7 goals in midweek and keeping another shut out.

Swansea have lost three of their last four matches, although their recent home form remains very impressive.

Swansea vs Manchester City: Who will win?

City are 1/7 favourites to win the match and 1/20 to qualify for the semi-finals. City are also the overall favourites to win the competition at 4/5.

Swansea are 16/1 to win on Sunday and 10/1 to qualify.

The draw can be backed at 7/1. A reminder that there are no replays at this stage of the competition and that there will be extra-time in the event of a draw.

City have kept five clean sheets in their last eight matches on the road in all competitions. Bet against both teams scoring at 8/13.

Gabriel Jesus has scored 11 goals in cup competitions this season. Jesus is 7/2 to open the scoring and 8/11 to score anytime.

Swansea vs Manchester City FA Cup Quarter-final match preview

Premier League leaders Manchester City travel to Wales for their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Swansea City on Saturday.

City recorded a tenth consecutive victory on Tuesday night, thrashing German side Schalke 7-0 in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

Sergio Aguero (2), Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus all found the net as City won 10-2 on aggregate.

A second consecutive defeat saw Swansea drop to 15th in the Championship table. The Swans were beaten 3-0 at West Brom on Wednesday.

Swansea are, however, unbeaten in their last seven matches at the Liberty Stadium, winning five of those.

Graham Potter’s side have scored at least three goals in each of their FA Cup fixtures this season.

Impressive as that is, Swansea’s goalscoring figures pale in comparison to City’s. The Citizens have scored 16 goals in their three matches in the competition.

Both sides have had fairly generous draws en route to the last eight. Swansea won away at Aston Villa in the third round before comfortable home victories over Gillingham and Brentford.

City, meanwhile, have scored 7 against Rotherham, 5 against Burnley and 4 against Newport County.

Swansea City are in the last eight of the competition for a second successive season. Last year they were eliminated at this stage following a 3-0 defeat to Spurs.

The Swans are aiming to reach the semi-final of the FA Cup for only the third time in their history. The last time they did so was in the 1963-64 season.

City, who have already won this season’s League Cup, are in search of their first FA Cup triumph since the 2010-11 season. The six-time winners have reached the semi-final stage of the Cup on 15 occasions.

City are unbeaten in their last 13 matches against Swansea. City won 5-0 in their most-recent Premier League meeting last April.

Bersant Celina is ineligible to face his parent club. The Kosovan midfielder has been mercilessly mocked online recently for his bizarre penalty miss against West Brom.

Oliver McBurnie, who missed out in midweek, remains a doubt. Daniel James is a potential deputy in midfield.

Leroy Fer and Joe Rodon are still sidelined.

The Swans have a number of players with Premier League experience, including Nathan Dyer, Kyle Naugthon and Wayne Routledge

Manchester City team news vs Swansea

With City still competing on three fronts, Guardiola is expected to make a few changes to his starting eleven.

Gabriel Jesus could well start ahead of Sergio Aguero up front.

Riyad Mahrez may be handed a rare start, with Raheem Sterling possibly being given a rest.

Fernandinho is sidelined until after the upcoming international break, which could see Fabian Delph start in the base of midfield.

Kevin de Bruyne is still out injured with a hamstring injury, while Benjamin Mendy is a long-term injury absentee.

Amyric Laporte is another who could be given a rest. With Vincent Kompany doubtful, John Stones looks likely to partner Nicolas Otamendi in defence.

Danilo is set compete with City’s Player of the Month Oleksandr Zinchenko for the left-back berth.

18-year-old Phil Foden could also get some valuable minutes after his goal in midweek. No player still active in the competition has scored more goals than Foden (3) this season.
