Potential hint over January transfer moves?
Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has claimed he’s looking for a player with the brain of Andres Iniesta when scouting for the club.
It’s not been a bad start to his Arsenal career for Mislintat who was part of the setup in the summer as the Gunners revamped their squad.
Several first-team players were brought into the club as a new era dawned after Arsene Wenger’s exit.
Stars such as Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Mattéo Guendouzi, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Lucas Torreira came into the club as well as manager Unai Emery.
All of the above have made a worthwhile contribution in some way during the season so far but some more than others.
Now, Mislintat will no doubt be planning for the January transfer window.
Though, he could have given a hint as to what he’s looking for at Arsenal.
Arsenal in the market for a playmaker?
That is because, in an interview over in Germany, Mislintat has claimed that he’s looking for a player with the brain of Andres Iniesta while scouting.
Speaking about the process of talent scouting, the German explained what he looks for in players, including the example of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
“For example, there was the pure pace paired with clinical precision on the finishing of Aubameyang (which made him special),” he explained to Zeit, as brilliant translated by one Arsenal fan.
“Or someone with a brain like Iniesta.”

When asked to elaborate, Mislintat continued.
“I’m talking about the ability to receive the ball, but keep the opponent in sight all the time, without looking at the ball, and playing the game naturally without thinking about it.
“Every motion is captured (in his brain).”
