Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi is reportedly waiting for Arsenal or Everton to make a move for him before the transfer deadline next week.
The French midfielder has been linked with a move away from Sevilla for a number of months now and Everton and Arsenal have both seemed close to signing him a number of times.
Though, a deal is yet to materialise and interest certainly seemed to have died down from both sides.
Arsenal signed Lucas Torreira in that position and while the Toffees are looking for a player in that position, other names including Badou Ndiaye have been more recently linked.
Now, that could soon change with reports suggesting that Nzonzi is almost certainly set to leave Sevilla this month as he waits on either Arsenal or Everton to make their move.
Will they make their move?
That comes from Gazzetta dello Sport, as translated by Sport Witness’ Tom Coast, who suggest that the player ‘will sit around for the next eight days’ in case either club trigger his release clause and offer him he wages he wants.
Those wages are reportedly €4m per year and Roma are also said to be interested in the player.
Though, if Everton or Arsenal don’t make their move before the English window shuts next week, the same report suggests that he could take up Roma’s offer who are said to be willing to offer him €3m per year.
With all that in mind, one way or another, Steven Nzonzi looks as though he is on his way out of Sevilla.
Would love Nzonzi at Goodison, the perfect player for me, not ideal he’s 29 but absolute powerhouse.
