Man City vs Schalke
Manchester City return to Champions League action on Tuesday night against Schalke.
Pep Guardiola’s side are in the box-seat to advance into the quarterfinals of the competition.
The Sky Blues won the first leg 3-2 in Germany; the match was a far tighter contest than many predicted.
Yet, with the second leg on home soil, Man City are overwhelming favourites to progress.
Schalke team news
Schalke are rumoured to field a B-Team for the second leg at the Etihad due to their domestic situation. Manager Domenico Tedesco is under huge pressure and knows if he doesn’t get good results domestically soon then his job is under jeopardy.

Stan Collymore’s Man City vs Man United prediction
In his weekly column in the Mirror, Stan Collymore has made a few predictions about what’s to come in the Champions League.
Manchester United are already through to the next phase after their PSG heroics.
However Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer’s side followed that up with a 2-0 loss at Arsenal.
If United end up pulling Man City in the next round, which team would reach the semis? Collymore said:
I don’t think there’s anything to say that if the two Manchester clubs were drawn against each other, United couldn’t triumph.
Yes, they lost to Arsenal on Sunday, but as good as the Gunners were, there was a definite ‘after the Lord Mayor’s Show’ about United’s performance following that epic midweek performance against Paris Saint-Germain.
Liverpool take on Bayern Munich on Wednesday night in Germany. It’s 0-0 after the first leg.
Would Liverpool knockout Man City if that draw came out the hat? Again Collymore was down on Guardiola’s men saying “City would probably rather avoid Liverpool as well”.
