Spurs fail to beat Swansea at Wembley

Spurs fans all make the same joke after frustrating draw v Swansea

Tottenham 0 – Swansea 0

After beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley in the Champions League, Swansea at home was expected to be a breeze.

It turned into anything but, despite the fact Swansea did not have a shot on target throughout the Premier League match.

Tottenham created chances intermittently but failed to beat former Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Wembley hoodoo returns

As a result of today’s draw, Spurs have still not won at Wembley in the Premier League.

After such a fantastic run at White Hart Lane last season, where they went unbeaten throughout the full campaign, Spurs are struggling at Wembley.

Two draws (versus Burnley and Swansea) plus a defeat to Chelsea tells its own story.

And, there are still 16 “home” Premier League games to play at Wembley.

Lots of Mike Dean Spurs jokes

Besides the fact that Tottenham were strong favourites to beat Swansea, they also seemingly had something else on their side.

Referee Mike Dean has become something of a lucky charm for Spurs in recent years.

Their record with Dean officiating is strong. And, Dean has also appeared to have “celebrated” goals for Spurs in the past.

Of course, this is simply Dean’s officiating style, but if anything, this went against Tottenham on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino bemoans Mike Dean performance

After the 0-0 draw with Swansea, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was unhappy with Dean’s officiating.

Dean rejected at least three penalty appeals from Spurs. Two of which were very strong.
