Watford 2 – Man United 4
After a 3-0 win at Newcastle last weekend, Man United beat Watford 4-2 on Tuesday night in the Premier League.
The surprise hero for Man United at Vicarage Road was Ashley Young.
Young scored two brilliant goals in the first half to fire the Red Devils into a commanding lead.
Anthony Martial scored United’s third, before a late fightback from Watford. Troy Deeney’s penalty and a goal from Abdoulaye Doucoure gave the home fans hope, but Jesse Lingard scored a brilliant fourth to kill the contest.
Will Hughes on crutches
Watford suffered a bad injury blow against Man United as Will Hughes left the stadium on crutches.
Hughes had recently hit a great run of form for the Hornets. He scored in back-to-back matches against West Ham and Newcastle.
Hughes was forced out the match just before the hour mark. He was replaced by Roberto Pereyra.
The midfielder is now set to miss the weekend’s match with Tottenham. As reported by the Hertfordshire Mercury:
Watford midfielder Will Hughes is almost certain to miss the Hornets’ clash with Tottenham Hotspur and could be out for longer.
Hughes limped off with a hamstring injury in the second half of the defeat to Manchester United and left the stadium on crutches.
Marco Silva was not sure how bad it was, whether Hughes had just pulled his hamstring or it was a more serious issue, such as a tear.
