Fernandes impresses with Sporting
Bruno Fernandes is one of the top talents currently honing their craft in Portugal.
The midfield maestro made the switch to Sporting CP in the summer of 2017, leaving Italian outfit Sampdoria.
Since his return to Portugal, Fernandes has cemented himself a pivotal member of Sporting’s midfield.
In 134 appearances across all competitions for the Verde e Brancos, Fernandes has scored a staggering 63 goals and provided 51 assists.
The free-scoring midfielder is also having a superb 2019/20 campaign.
In 25 outings for Sporting, the 25-year-old has netted 15 and assisted 13.
As well as impressing on a domestic level, the Sporting standout is also a key member of the Portuguese national side, which recently won the first-ever UEFA Nations League tournament in 2019.

Fernandes wants Man United move
But while Fernandes continues to thrive with Sporting, it appears the midfielder is eyeing a move abroad.
It was recently reported that Premier League outfit Manchester United were set to lodge a £65m bid for the attacking midfielder.
Now, on Monday the 13th of January, the Telegraph are claiming that Fernandes is keen to join the Manchester powerhouse this month.
The report from the Telegraph claims that Fernandes has informed Sporting that he would like to join the Red Devils this month if a deal can be struck between the clubs.
Man United’s Ed Woodward and Matt Judge are understood to have held talks with Frederico Varandas on Friday morning, with the Sporting president having then returned to Portugal to mull over United’s proposal, as per the Telegraph.
While Fernandes is unlikely to register as many goals and assists in the Premier League as he currently does for Sporting, he should, if he signs, add some much-needed creativity to United’s midfield.
