Southampton’s Bednarek posts worst ever score in FPL and claims Man United’s Martial told him it wasn’t a foul
Record low score in 19-year history of FPL
As if losing 9-0 at Manchester United wasn’t bad enough, Southampton’s second such defeat in 16 months, Jan Bednarek has made history by posting a score of -7, the lowest in the history of the game.
The previous score of -6 was obtained by both Richard Dunne and Ryan Bertrand, but both can now sleep more easily.
Minutes played – 85 (2)
Goals conceded – 9 (-4)
Own goals – 1 (-2)
Red cards – 1 (-3)Spare a thought for Jan Bednarek owners, he finished #MUNSOU on -7!

As the above tweet shows, this was a performance for the ages from the Polish international, with an own goal and red card adding to the misery of seeing his team concede three more goals after his dismissal at 6-0.
The game got off to a terrible start for Southampton when debutant Alex Jankewitz was sent off after two minutes of his debut. Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl couldn’t hide his displeasure and admitted that the decision killed all their match preparations.
As the fall out no doubt continues from another heavy defeat Radio Solent’s Adam Blackmore tweeted that the Saints have requested that referees involved in recent controversial decisions no longer take charge of their games.
Southampton have requested that Mike Dean and Lee Mason don’t referee them in the near future
The request comes after both were involved in contentious moments this week versus Villa and Man Utd #SaintsFC

Harsh dismissal
Bednarek can certainly feel aggrieved at what seemed a soft penalty and has even come out and said that Anthony Martial told him it wasn’t a foul. BT Sport cameras picked up the player claiming Martial told him it wasn’t a foul.

The Saints inquest will begin, but Bednarek’s ownership and value is no doubt set to plummet.
