Southampton target shock winger as Quincy Promes deal falls through

Desperate

Southampton have made a move for one shock Premier League winger as an alternative to previous target Quincy Promes as a deal fell through.

The Dutch winger was set to move to the Saints but the deal has seemingly fallen through over the past few days.

Southampton had even offered £30million for the player according to reports this week but his current club, Spartak Moscow, couldn’t find a replacement.

That has left Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino scrambling to find a forward player who could solve their goalscoring woes.

Safe to say, this could be an interesting one to say the least.

Lamela

That player is said to be Tottenham’s Eric Lamela as the Argentine could be shipped out on loan according to the Independent.

That comes down to Mauricio Pochettino’s side signing Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian is set to complete his move today and that would leave Lamela far down the pecking order.

The 25-year-old has struggled with a string of injuries over the two years but a move could revitalise his career.

At only 25, he could certainly get back to the quality he shown before his injury and Southampton could benefit from that.

Though, it will not be an easy deal to complete as former club Roma are said to be interested in bringing him back to Italy.

This one could go down to the wire, Saints fans.
