Southampton dealt Danny Ings injury blow vs Sheffield United
Southampton’s fortunes have gone from bad to worse this afternoon, after Danny Ings was forced out of the club’s meeting with Sheffield United.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men are currently locked in action with the Blades at Bramall Lane, in a Premier League clash.
The visitors headed into proceedings desperate for both a bounce-back performance, and result, having seen the club’s campaign fall off a cliff over the last couple of months.
Heading into this afternoon’s exchanges, Southampton were winless in their last 9 in the English top-flight, a stretch which had seen them slip to a lowly 14th in the table.

As things stand in Sheffield, meanwhile, the Saints remain locked at 0-0 with Chris Wilder’s United, amid an altogether tense affair.
Ings hobbled
As outlined above, however, whilst the away side are yet to fall behind at Bramall Lane, they have nevertheless been dealt a concerning blow.
This comes on the personnel front, after Danny Ings was forced to depart the action inside the opening quarter of an hour.
The experienced hitman pulled up with what appeared to be an ankle issue, before quickly going to ground. In turn, after being seen to by the Southampton medical team, it was decided that Ings was in no condition to continue, with Che Adams having been introduced in his place:

Southampton’s fans and players alike now face an anxious wait for an update on their star man’s wellbeing, with a scan no doubt set to assess the extent of the damage over the coming days.
