Southampton dealt Danny Ings injury blow vs Man City

Southampton have this afternoon been dealt a considerable blow on the personnel front, after Danny Ings was forced to limp off during the club’s meeting with Manchester City.
Sterling on target
Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men are currently locked in action with the Sky Blues at St. Mary’s.
The Saints of course headed into proceedings amid a stellar spell of form, having fallen to just a solitary Premier League defeat since September.
In turn, ahead of kick-off this afternoon, Southampton sat 3rd in the English top-flight table.

Ings hobbled
The scoreline at St. Mary’s, however, comes as far from Southampton’s only concern to this point in the clash.
The other comes in the form of a potentially serious blow on the personnel front.
Late in the first-half, star hitman Danny Ings went to ground, with what appeared to be a knee problem.
After being tended to by the hosts’ medical team, it was subsequently decided that Ings was not in a fit state to continue, forcing the former Liverpool man to limp off, to be replaced by Nathan Tella:
