Southampton among clubs interested in Frankfurt’s Evan N’Dicka – Sky

N’Dicka’s time at Frankfurt

Evan N’Dicka made the switch to Eintracht Frankfurt in July of 2018.

The Bundesliga outfit are understood to have paid AJ Auxerre around £5m for the defender’s services.

N’Dicka has since gone on to rack up 61 appearances across all competitions for Frankfurt, scoring two and assisting four.

In terms of the current campaign, the Frenchman began as something of a fringe player for the German side.

However, before the season was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic, N’Dicka began to be afforded more opportunities, and was impressing both in the Bundesliga and in Europe.

N’Dicka has made four Europa League appearances this term, in which he has scored one and assisted one for Frankfurt.

Southampton eyeing N’Dicka

N’Dicka is currently contracted to Eintracht Frankfurt until 2023.

However, the versatile defender looks to be attracting interest from a number of top sides, of whom several come from England.

Sky Sports News reported last month that the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Sevilla, Valencia and both Milan-based clubs have been monitoring the 20-year-old.

And now, SSN are claiming that Southampton are also among the clubs interested in signing Paris-born N’Dicka.

The coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe has caused major uncertainty with regards to the transfer market moving forward, with top clubs like Liverpool even reportedly affected.

But despite this, Sky report that Southampton are ‘cracking on’ with their plans to strengthen areas of their team this summer, despite the uncertainty surrounding both when the season will resume, and the potential for the club to be sold.

As well as N’Dicka, the Saints are also said to be keen on another French youngster, Malang Sarr.

Sarr is currently plying his trade in Ligue 1 with Nice, but is out of contract in the summer, according to Sky.
