Solskjaer provides Marcus Rashford update ahead of Man United vs Sheffield United

Man United vs Sheffield United

Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Wednesday.

The Red Devils, as of writing, sit top of the Premier League table, two points clear of 2nd placed Manchester City.

However, City do boast a game in hand, and will be in action on Tuesday evening vs relegation-battling West Brom.

So, there is a good chance that United will actually have been knocked off the PL summit by the time they kick-off at Old Trafford tomorrow, meaning a win against Sheffield United is imperative.

A victory for the Reds on Wednesday should be fairly easy to come by, though.

The Blades sit dead bottom of the Premier League, with just five points amassed from 19 games.

Solskjaer provides Rashford update

Ahead of his side’s upcoming outing, meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on the fitness of Marcus Rashford.

The forward played a key role in United’s win over Liverpool at the weekend, scoring one and assisting one.

However, following the clash, it was confirmed that the forward was set for a scan on his knee.

This, of course, immediately threw Rashford’s involvement vs Sheffield United into doubt.

Speaking on Tuesday, though, Solskjaer confirmed that the English international is available for selection:

“Marcus is available, yeah.

“He trained this morning. I think he tweaked his knee a little bit but should be fine. We are looking strong, which is a good place to be in.”
