Solskjaer makes Paul Pogba future statement & outlines what he expects from Man United midfielder

Paul Pogba linked with PSG

The future of Paul Pogba has been up in the air for some time now.

Mino Raiola claimed back in December of 2020 that his client was unhappy at Old Trafford, and that it was ‘over’ for him at Manchester United.

This was followed by Raiola once again attempting to drum up speculation surrounding a potential move to Real Madrid for his client.

In more recent times, the Frenchman has seen himself linked with a move to PSG.

Solskjaer on Pogba

All of this comes with Pogba now having less than a year to run on his current United contract.

This, of course, means that he would be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January.

So, if United want to ensure they recoup some money from Pogba, selling him this summer would seem like the best option.

However, when speaking about Pogba recently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stated that he expects Pogba to be at United come the close of the summer window:

“Yes, I expect Paul to be here when the first of September comes.

“If you’ve got a five-year contract or a one-year contract, when you sign for Man Utd you have to rise to the challenge of performing on a consistent level.

“I’m not worried whatsoever that the length of any player’s contract is changing the level of their motivation and inspiration. You want to play well for your team, your team-mates, yourself, your family, every time you play.”

The Norwegian also outlined what he expects from Pogba and the rest of his players:

“What I expect is that the attitude and the approach to every game is the right one. That we have the same focus, the right focus, the right professionalism and, with that, I have no worries about Paul whatsoever.”
