Gianfranco Zola’s brilliant gesture to Eden Hazard vs Cardiff

Chelsea 4 – Cardiff 1

Are Chelsea realistic title challengers?

When the subject of potential Premier League winners comes around, most pit Liverpool against Man City.

But after five rounds of the season, it’s Chelsea who lead the way ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.

Chelsea recorded their fifth win of the year beating Cardiff 4-1 on Saturday.

Sol Bamba put Cardiff into a surprise lead. But the Blues were steered back on course by a brilliant Eden Hazard performance.

Hazard scored a hat-trick, while Willian bagged a late fourth.

Gianfranco Zola & Eden Hazard

When it comes to discussions of the greatest ever Chelsea players, Gianfranco Zola is undoubtedly in the conversation.

Zola is back at Stamford Bridge this season. The Italian is a coach alongside Maurizio Sarri.

As a player between 1996 and 2003, Zola helped the Blues win two FA Cups, one Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup, one Uefa Super Cup and one League Cup.

Hazard was subbed out the Cardiff game in the 84th minute. Davide Zappacosta was given a cameo appearance.

When the Belgian stepped off the pitch and into the dugout, Zola bowed towards Hazard.

The eye-catching moment was recorded by a fan in Stamford Bridge.
