Bournemouth 3 – West Ham 3
Bournemouth and West Ham played out a stunning 3-3 draw on Boxing Day in the Premier League.
The result does not do a great deal for either side as they look to avoid the drop from England’s top flight.
Perhaps the Cherries will be the happier due to the fact their third goal was shrouded in controversy.
Marko Arnautovic at the double
West Ham had taken the lead via James Collins after just seven minutes. Bournemouth took the lead thanks to goals from Dan Gosling and Nathan Ake.
Then came the Marko Arnautovic show. The former Stoke striker scored twice at Bournemouth and looked to have given the Hammers all the points.
Only for Bournemouth to score an incredibly fortunate and surely illegal goal via Callum Wilson on 93 minutes.
Arnautovic has now scored five goals in his past five Premier League games and you have to credit the management of David Moyes for this impressive form.
Who is Marko Arnoutivic?
Arguably the funniest part of Arnautovic’s double at Bournemouth is that the name on the back of his shirt was spelt wrong.
As you can imagine, in these days of instant reaction on social media, the West Ham gaffe has been noticed and remarked upon by many.
The reactions have mainly been that this is “typical West Ham” and that the Hammers “can’t get anything right.”
Incredible performance from Marko Arnoutovic!!
Classic West Ham!
Two goals for a player they can't spell correctly!
😂 😂 😂
